ree

Serves 4-6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef (filet, sirloin, ribeye)

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp chopped garlic

  • 2 tbsp chopped ginger

  • 3/4 cup onion (sliced)

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 tbsp gochujang paste or sriracha

  • 2.5 cups Thai or jasmine rice

  • Spring onions

  • Sesame seeds

  • Sautéed veggies of your choice

Preparation

Finely slice your meat and set aside. In a bowl mix together the garlic, ginger, gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar and sesame oil. In a large bowl add the meat and onions and pour over the sauce and mix till all the meat is coated in the sauce. Cover and leave in the fridge to marinate for a minimum of 2 hours. When you’re ready to cook, cook your rice and keep it ready. Sauté your vegetables (I used spinach and sautéed it in garlic, soy sauce and gochujang). Heat up your pan in some oil and start to cook your meat. My meat took about 3-5 mins (it will vary depending on the type of meat and thickness) Prepare your bowl by adding the rice at the bottom, then on one side add your veggies and then the cooked meat on the other side. Top with green onions and sesame seeds and enjoy!
